A free TrueCoach alternative

seven is free for coaches at any roster size, and it brings you the members. TrueCoach has no free tier: it starts at $26.34/month for 5 clients and reaches $136.99/month at 50. It is excellent software — you just have to fill it yourself.

TrueCoach’s pricing is honest. It’s also a wall.

Credit where it’s due: TrueCoach doesn’t nickel-and-dime. There is no meaningful add-on stack, and the custom-branded app is includedfrom the $57.99/month plan rather than sold separately — cleaner than most of the category, and better than Trainerize’s $169 one-time fee if you want branding.

But there is no free tier. A new coach with two clients pays $26.34/month for a 5-client plan on day one — before earning anything. And the ladder is steep: 5 clients is $26.34, 20 is $57.99, 50 is $136.99. You pay more at every rung you climb, and TrueCoach climbs it with you without ever having helped you climb.

seven charges the member, not the coach

The difference isn’t a discount — it’s a different business. TrueCoach sells software to coaches. seven sells memberships to people who want a coach, and then hands those people to a small roster of hand-picked coaches.

  • $0 for coaches — at 2 clients or 200. No plan, no client bands, no branded-app fee.
  • Members come to you.seven does the acquisition; that’s what the subscription funds.
  • Keep 100% of the programs you sell — or 70% if we feature you. You set the price, and you’re paid directly.
  • Native coach and member apps, messaging, nutrition, check-ins and payments — included, not tiered.

Members pay $19/month or $199/year. That is 100% seven’s and funds the app, the support and the marketing that brings you members. See the earnings math.

When TrueCoach is the better choice

The cleanest, fastest programming workflow in the category, and a custom-branded app included rather than sold as an add-on. If you are a strength coach writing a lot of programs, it is a joy to use.

seven is the wrong tool if you want to buy software and be left alone. We are a curated platform — we hand-pick a small roster, we bring the members, and we have opinions about the coaching that happens on it. If that sounds like overhead rather than an offer, TrueCoach will serve you better, and we’d rather say so.

The catch, plainly

seven is selective by design — we feature only 5–10 coaches so each one gets real member demand, and we review every application personally. TrueCoach will simply take your money and let you in.

We’re also small: closed beta, 3 founding coaches, roughly 15 members as of July 2026, with the iOS app in final pre-launch. TrueCoach is a mature product used by thousands of coaches. That is a real difference and you should weigh it — here’s exactly where we are.
